About the Role
An exciting opportunity for an experienced Chief Executive Officer to lead a respected, values-driven, for-purpose organisation into its next chapter.
Reporting to the Board, the CEO will provide strategic leadership, building on the operational improvements made over the last 3 years to deliver SHV's vision, strengthen organisational sustainability, and expand impact across Victoria's sexual and reproductive health sector.
This role offers the opportunity to shape long-term strategy, lead innovation in service delivery, strengthen government and sector partnerships, and drive organisational performance in a dynamic funding environment.
Leading a committed leadership team, the CEO will champion culture, governance excellence, financial and risk management stewardship and growth — ensuring SHV remains a leading, trusted and influential voice in the sector.
Key responsibilities:
* Lead the development and execution of SHV's strategic plan in partnership with the Board
* Provide strong financial, governance and risk oversight across a ~$8.2M+ operating environment
* Drive research and innovation in service delivery, including digital, telehealth and community-based models
* Build and maintain strong relationships with government, funding bodies and sector stakeholders
* Advocate at state and national levels to influence policy and improve sexual, relationship and reproductive health outcomes
* Lead organisational transformation, change management and culture development
* Diversify revenue streams and identify new growth opportunities to reduce reliance on government funding.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Proven CEO or senior executive leadership experience within health, community or human services
* Demonstrated experience leading a medium-sized organisation through strategic and transformational change
* Strong financial acumen with experience managing significant operating budgets
* Experience in the for-purpose sector and working effectively with a Board
* Exceptional stakeholder engagement, advocacy and representational capability, including media engagement
* A track record of delivering measurable strategic and operational outcomes in complex environments
* Tertiary qualifications in health, education or management (postgraduate and governance qualifications desirable).
