Overview
Kingsgrove Public School is a comprehensive and inclusive primary school located in South West Sydney. Our community is culturally and linguistically diverse, with 78% of students coming from a language background other than English. The school operates across two campuses, offering a K-2 and a 3-6 setting with a total enrolment of 270 students. We support students with autism, moderate intellectual disabilities, and behavioural needs through a specialised support unit.
Responsibilities
* Lead and develop evidence‐based, evaluative, and differentiated teaching and learning practices, including the design, implementation, and monitoring of individualized programs that address diverse learning needs.
* Manage the dual role of Assistant Principal and specialised teacher within the support class, ensuring effective classroom instruction and leadership.
* Contribute as a dynamic member of the executive leadership team and lead whole‐school initiatives aligned with the school's strategic directions, fostering wellbeing practices and an inclusive environment.
* Build and maintain positive, inclusive, trusting relationships and partnerships with students, families, staff, external agencies, and the wider community, and manage the performance of individuals and teams in a culturally diverse setting.
Qualifications and Criteria
* Full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education.
* Experience teaching and leading inclusive programs, with a proven ability to develop and manage quality teaching and learning initiatives.
* Strong educational leadership skills to build capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams.
* Well‐developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff, and parents.
* Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning.
* Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy.
* Experience teaching students with autism, intellectual disabilities, and complex learning and behavioural needs within a support class, demonstrating the ability to perform the dual role of Assistant Principal and special‐education teacher.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is required. All Department of Education employees working in a Special School Program must be vaccinated as outlined in the Department's vaccination requirements.
