In this role, the Production Manager at our Ballarat Potato Plant will have responsibility for medium and long term strategic direction and will be accountable for the daily operation of the Ballarat Potato Plant, to produce a quality product within specification and budget constraints in the most efficient manner.
**About the role**
- Leadership role in promoting/improving the Health & Safety culture within the Production Departments
- Responsible for the strategic vision and the implementation of values, best practice and Standard Operating Procedures
- To have a working knowledge of key contributors of the Total Production Cost (TPC)
- Ensure that all Production employees have a comprehensive Personal Development and Training Program
- Provide the leadership required to implement and sustain improvements made through Continuous Improvement (CI) events and McCain Driving Impact (MDI) platform
- Delivery on the components of safety, quality, delivery, cost, people, and environment
- Accountable for the quality of all production, ensuring all quality systems are adhered to
- Understand our food safety management system and enforce compliance with the HACCP plan
- To have a 'hands on' approach to Employee Relations
- Accountable for the Environmental Programme to ensure all aspects of the day to day operations are compliant with Local body, Legislative and Corporate requirements
- Minimise environmental impact of manufacturing processes
**About you**
- Management experience (min. 3 years) in Food Science, Manufacturing or Process Engineering
- Experience in the FMCG food processing sector, preferably potato and/or vegetable facility
- Relevant Tertiary qualification
- Demonstrated team player with good organisational, people and communication skills
- Ability to work on a variety of unconnected projects with a results focus orientation
- A logical thinker with good problem solving skills
- Able to lead, coach and develop staff to perform against their KPI's
- Demonstrated knowledge of Manufacturing Processes, Safety, Quality (HACCP, GMP), and Environmental Management Systems
- Knowledge of Statistical Process Control, lean principles and/or Six Sigma methodology
- An analytical/creative thinker and designer
