Midwifery Research Associate Or Research Fellow Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and experienced midwife to join our research team as a Midwifery Research Associate or Research Fellow. This fixed-term, part-time contract will be based in Perth and will commence soon.
In this role, you will work on a variety of established and emerging projects, contributing to innovative research that improves the health outcomes of women, children and families, and advances the midwifery profession. You will need to be employed as a midwife within the Women's Health Service concurrent to this Research Fellow role.
As a member of our high-performing team, you will have the opportunity to work with world-leading researchers and contribute to the development of new research programs. Your expertise as a midwife will be essential in ensuring the successful delivery of research projects and the dissemination of results to stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have a strong record of research outputs in high-quality refereed journals, excellent communication skills, and experience in project management. A doctoral qualification in a relevant discipline is desirable but not essential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct research in midwifery and women's health, collaborating with researchers and clinicians to develop and implement research projects
* Contribute to the development of research proposals, protocols, and reports
* Provide guidance and support to HDR students
* Participate in the supervision of HDR students
* Collaborate with colleagues to disseminate research findings through publications, presentations, and other channels
Selection Criteria:
* Must hold registration as a midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
* Evidence of a record of research outputs in high-quality refereed journals
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* High-level organisational skills with demonstrated proficiency in project management
* Demonstrated commitment to the development of a collegial and supportive working environment
