About the role

Thiess is currently seeking a Health & Safety Officer to join our Olive Downs Complex in the Bowen Basin.

Working a 8/6 roster, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

* Assisting in the development and implementation of health and safety procedures, including but not limited to facilitating risk assessments
* Ensuring compliance with the Coal Mine Workers Health Scheme
* Managing incident reporting and investigation processes
* Compiling and analysing safety data for monthly reports
* Support on site injury management and return to work requirements
* Performing other duties as directed by the HS&T Manager

About You

* Cert IV Workplace Health and Safety, or relevant to related field and/or willing to obtain
* Previous experience as a Health, Safety, and Training Officer within resources, construction, or a similar industry would be advantageous
* High level of organizational and time management skills
* Motivated and committed to meeting deadlines and achieving results
* Ability to thrive in a high-volume, busy work environment
* Proficiency in MS Office, especially strong Excel skills
* Strong attention to detail
