Helping Minds is inviting applications from mental health carers across Western Australia to join the 2026 Mental Health Carers Reference Group.
This group provides an opportunity for carers to share their lived experience, insights, and ideas to help shape and improve services that support mental health carers, families, and communities.
We are welcoming new carers to join the group this year and encourage people from across WA to apply.
About the Mental Health Carers Reference Group
The Mental Health Carers Reference Group brings together people who support a friend, family member, or loved one experiencing mental health challenges.
Members of the group provide valuable feedback and lived experience that helps inform Helping Minds programs, services, and advocacy for mental health carers.
By joining the group, you can contribute your perspective and help influence meaningful improvements for carers across Western Australia.
Who Can Apply
You may apply if you:
Are 18 years or older
Are a mental health carer supporting a friend, family member, or loved one experiencing mental health challenges
Live in Western Australia
Are interested in sharing your experience to help improve services and supports for carers
Meeting Format
The Mental Health Carers Reference Group meets online via Zoom.
This allows carers from across Western Australia to participate and ensures that regional and remote carers can also contribute to discussions.

Shortlisted applicants will be contacted for a brief interview.
