Responsibilities
* Lead the quantification and analysis of market and operational risks for Ausgrid's distributed battery portfolio
* Develop and refine robust risk models to quantify revenue variability and market exposure in the National Electricity Market (NEM)
* Build tools and simulations to evaluate battery performance and earnings under various price, load, and weather scenarios
* Assess operational risks including technical performance, network constraints, flexible export limits, and dynamic operating envelopes
* Support strategic decisions on market participation and risk mitigation; inform bidding strategies in energy and FCAS markets
* Interpret regulatory developments (e.g., AEMC DER integration initiatives) and advise on financial implications for Ausgrid's battery assets
* Collaborate cross-functionally with forecasting, finance, risk, governance, regulatory affairs teams, and manage stakeholder relationships
Qualifications & Experience
* A degree in a quantitative field (Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or related). Postgraduate qualification desirable
* Advanced knowledge of Python and/or R; skills in SQL and data visualization tools (Power BI or similar); experience with market simulation and optimization models
* Proactive, self-starting attitude with strong motivation for continuous learning
* Ability to communicate complex data-driven insights to non-technical stakeholders and prepare reports for senior management
* Strong analytical mindset with capability to tackle short-term operational tasks and long-term strategic initiatives
* High accuracy and attention to detail in financial modelling and data analysis
