About us:
Moura Multipurpose Health Service is a modern, community-focused facility — a unique hybrid between a hospital and outpatient centre, designed to deliver flexible, high-quality rural healthcare.
Servicing the Dawson Valley, the facility offers 24/7 emergency care, inpatient and outpatient services, and a co-located general practice clinic. You'll also be backed by innovative Telehealth links to larger centres like Rockhampton and Emerald, ensuring support is always within reach.
The local community is passionate about its health service, with strong support for attracting and retaining healthcare professionals — meaning you'll feel valued both at work and at home.
About the role:
This is rural medicine at its most rewarding. You'll work alongside the Medical Superintendent Private Practice to deliver a broad scope of care — from ED presentations and inpatient management to running your own private GP clinic.
Your days will be varied (in the best way), with ward rounds, outpatient clinics, emergency response, and opportunities to build your skills across multiple clinical areas. You'll be part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team, contributing to quality improvement, community health initiatives, and service development.
There's also flexibility to maintain and grow your clinical skills, with opportunities for professional development and exposure across the broader CQHHS network.
About you:
* Mandatory qualification/s: Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), or equivalent eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
* Enrolment/acceptance into a Specialist General Practice training program that will facilitate a provider number with access to Medicare benefits for the private practice.
* Current Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Advanced Paediatric Life Support (APLS) certification, and enrolment and maintenance of ongoing Continuing Medical Education (CME) program of appropriate College.
