About the Role
Join KLC's legal team as a Senior Lawyer based in Broome, WA, supporting Aboriginal communities in matters of native title, cultural heritage, and governance.
Key responsibilities include:
* Advising on native title claims, land use, and compensation
* Representing clients in Federal Court and the Native Title Tribunal
* Advising on Indigenous governance and cultural heritage matters
* Facilitating meetings with PBCs and Traditional Owners
* Mentoring junior lawyers and upholding legal compliance
What You'll Bring
* Eligible for admission in WA and the High Court of Australia
* Minimum 5 years of post-admission legal experience (highly regarded)
* Experience in:
• Native title, cultural heritage, or environmental law
• Legal advisory work on governance, land use, or mining
• Litigation before the Federal Court
• Working with Indigenous corporations or PBCs
* High-level cultural competency and community engagement skills
* A passion for social justice and Aboriginal rights
