Who are we looking for?
We're seeking a Project Engineer to join our Delivery Phase Services (DPS) team in Perth, Australia.
The primary purpose is to support Senior Project Engineers, Area Managers, and Study/Project Managers by coordinating project deliverables and inputs in close collaboration with technical leads, ensuring scope, project cost, schedule, quality, and client objectives are met.
Ideal candidates have no more than 3 years of experience and demonstrate the right attitude, aptitude, and application to make GHD a trusted consulting partner.
This position involves engaging in:
Project Planning and Execution:
Developing detailed project plans covering management functions such as HSE, scope, schedule, budget, resourcing, and risk
Overseeing daily work packages related to design, procurement, and construction
Monitoring and reporting project progress
Technical Project Leadership:
Making technical decisions and resolving queries (TQs, RFIs)
Supporting design and construction activities with cross-functional teams
Preparing technical reports following client and GHD guidelines
Performing site inspections and preparing surveillance reports
Client Interaction:
Understanding client requirements, managing expectations, and providing technical support
Assisting in communicating project updates and milestones
Visiting client sites as needed
Team Collaboration:
Acting as a key contact for clients and project teams
Coordinating engineering deliverables, including reports, estimates, schedules, and scopes
Quality Assurance:
Implementing quality control processes for project deliverables
Participating in reviews to ensure compliance with standards
What you will bring to the team:
Relevant tertiary qualifications (e.g., Bachelor’s in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering) or related field
1 to 3 years of relevant experience in project management or consulting
Knowledge of project management (qualifications optional)
Understanding of engineering principles, codes, and standards
Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration
