About the role
We are seeking an experienced Senior HSE Advisor to support project delivery teams and drive a proactive safety culture across complex construction environment. Reporting to the Project HSE Manager, this role will provide leadership, guidance, and hands‐on support to ensure the effective implementation of HSE systems, compliance obligations, and continuous improvement initiatives on site.
This role is based in Leongatha, VIC.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead site‐based HSE activities including inspections, audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations across project operations
* Support operational teams and subcontractors to ensure compliance with SWMS, permits, high risk work requirements, and company HSE standards
* Drive proactive safety initiatives, behavioural safety programs, and continuous improvement activities across site teams
* Deliver inductions, toolbox talks, training, and mentoring to supervisors, workers, and junior HSE personnel
* Prepare HSE reports, monitor compliance, and support the Project HSE Manager with audits, reporting, and stakeholder engagement
Experience and Capabilities
* Previous experience in a Senior HSE Advisor or HSE Advisor role on a major infrastructure project
* Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation, auditing, risk management, and incident investigation methodologies
* Demonstrated ability to influence, coach, and build strong working relationships with operational teams and subcontractors
* Experience supporting large‐scale project environments with multiple stakeholders
* Relevant WHS qualifications (Diploma), current driver's license, and strong communication and reporting skills
