MinRes is seeking a Site Environmental Advisor
MinRes is seeking a Site Environmental Advisor to ensure compliance and support the continuity of our Lithium Operation. We are looking for a proactive individual who are committed to environmental excellence and making a tangible impact.
Our Site Environmental Advisor will work on a regular 8/6 roster and will be part of a team dedicated to upholding environmental standards and ensuring sustainable project success.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide onsite engagement with the site team to ensure understanding and commitment to environmental compliance.
* Coordinate the Land Activity Permit process to ensure timely progression including close‐out.
* Support auditing, inspection, monitoring, and reporting processes.
* Assist in environmental incident reporting, action completion, action tracking, and ICAMs.
* Provide professional, timely environmental advice to site personnel.
* Support stakeholders and provide scientific advice with respect to environmental aspects of the project.
* Interpret legislation, government standards and agreements and provide informed commentary, improvement opportunities and risk management strategies.
* Ensure the provision of all necessary information to support the grant of all necessary environmental approvals.
* Liaise with regulatory bodies and have an active involvement in external regulatory inspections and internal EMS audits.
* Assist environmental incident investigation and ensure timely reporting and escalation of all identified non‐compliances and incidents as per MinRes procedures.
* Ensure environmental monitoring is compliant with approvals, data is stored, and results are compared to approval limits.
* Coordinate and liaise with consultants/contractors ensuring MinRes procedures are adhered to.
* Roll out new EMS and MinRes systems to site teams.
* Manage remote travel and works to ensure emergency and safety plans are in place.
* Participate and attend site team pre‐starts, return to works and site management meetings.
What Is Required
* A bachelor's degree within Environmental Science or a similar discipline.
* Strong environmental management operational experience within consulting or mining and resources industry.
* Significant hands‐on site fauna handling experience.
* Knowledge of environmental legislation, guidelines and standards.
* Understanding of project/operational environmental risks.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with teams at all levels.
* Problem‐solving mindset, mentor‐like attitude, fast thinker who is systematic, engaging, and thrives on change.
* Sound experience with GIS software skills.
