AG-River Energy is a diverse mining and resources company with operations in South Australia and in the Northern Territory.
This role will include representing the Group across all projects and aspects. This role will be based in Adeliade S.A with occasional site travel to the projects and support and potential working from home arrangements in advance.
Responsibilities include but not limited to.
* Manage pre-award activities including RFQs, EOIs, ITBs and supplier evaluations.
* Develop sourcing and commercial strategies aligned with business objectives.
* Lead commercial negotiations to achieve best-value financial and risk outcomes.
* Draft, negotiate and administer contracts through to close-out.
* Coordinate legal responses to supplier contract exceptions.
* Identify and mitigate contractual and commercial risks.
* Contract and supplier agreements including financial reconciliation and due diligence.
* Exposure to the oil, gas and mining resources industry and have a good understanding
* Analyse pricing structures and identify cost-saving and cost-avoidance opportunities.
* Monitor supplier performance and manage disputes or claims where required.
* Conduct post-contract reviews and implement process improvements.Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and internal commercial policies.
* Lead contract negotiations and manage complex contractual & insurance matters
* Drive financial and commercial strategy aligned with company objectives
* Identify and pursue strategic opportunities and partnerships
* Support operational leaders with commercial insight and decision-making
* Strengthen systems, controls and reporting to support ongoing business development
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
* Minimum 10 years' experience in a similar contracts or commercial role.
* Degree in Procurement, Law, Business, accounting or related discipline (desirable).
* Background in finance, accounting, commerce or commercial law positions at a leadership level
* Experience in the application of contemporary reporting, and financial management practices.
* Strong financial acumen, including forecasting, cash flow and performance analysis
* Solid contract management and risk assessment experience in the resource sector
* Excellent written, verbal, numeracy and computer skills.
* Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
* Current operational experience in the mining and resources sector (essential).
* Strong commercial acumen and negotiation capability.
* Proven ability to manage high-value, long‐term service contracts.
* Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills across technical and non-technical teams.
* High attention to detail with strong planning and organisational skills.
* A proactive mindset with the ability to manage competing priorities and unexpected challenges.
* A commitment to continuous improvement in contracting processes and governance.
