Crowne Plaza Canberra is looking for an Assistant Manager of Finance and Business Support to join our team. As an Assistant Manager of Finance and Business Support you would be assisting and supporting the Director of Finance and Business Support to operate within IHG’s policies and procedures, as well as local compliance requirements, assists in the responsibility for all hotel, accounting and financial controls. As this a shared role between Crowne Plaza Canberra and National Convention Centre Canberra, you will be supporting across the two business units. A little taste of your day to day You will be performing professional accounting duties to maintain, control over expenses, income, assets and liability of the hotel to ensure the security of the assets of the company. Assisting with Budgeting, forecasting and monthly reporting for different workflows. You will also be responsible for the smooth running of the fortnightly payroll and in the preparation of the end of month journals. You will be assisting in completing the weekly and monthly forecast for the stakeholders and compiling and reviewing P&Ls. Assisting in the evaluation of existing control measures that apply to accounting procedures and computer systems as per IHG Policies and Procedures. Deliver Great Hotels Guests Love by supporting Hotel and Department managers in the appropriate deployment of resources to maximise guest satisfaction Ensure that finance related procedures or initiatives have minimised negative impacts to the customer experience. Facilitate the reporting of workplace hazards to the person(s) who can implement corrective action. What we need from you: Demonstrated ability to interact with customers, employees and third parties that reflects highly on the hotel, the brand and the Company. Problem solving, prioritization, reasoning, motivating, organizational and training abilities. Good communication and writing skills. Highly focused and dedicated work ethic, high Attention to detail. Strong team player, inspires a team to live the IHG “Winning Ways”. Proven ability to adapt to varying situations Knowledge of PeopleSoft Financial Systems and Opera Property Management System would be advantageous. Qualification And Experience Bachelor Degree in Hospitality Tourism, Commerce, Finance or Business Administration related or higher education qualification / equivalent in Accounting, Finance and, Minimum 2 years experience in hotel accounting or audit, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
