JK Personnel is thrilled to once again be recruiting on behalf of Sovereign Concrete Products. Having operated in Ballarat for over 30 years, Sovereign Concrete Products is well known in Ballarat and a proud locally owned and operated business. Sovereign Concrete Products supplies precast concrete products to the Civil Construction Industry, working with large civil companies in the delivery of some of the largest projects throughout Australia.
The Role
Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Occupational Health and Safety Manager will be responsible for driving OH&S strategy across the business. You will lead the development, implementation, and ongoing management of all documents, completing regular audits and training to ensure the highest standards of workplace safety are maintained. As a key member of the leadership team, you will also work with stakeholders at every level of the organisation to drive a safety culture. From inducting new starters to ongoing training, your strong communication skills, proactive approach to work, and demonstrated ability to influence positive change will set you up for success.
Duties
* Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing management of Sovereign Concrete's safety management system
* Complete regular auditing to identify and correct workplace hazards
* Develop and deliver safety-related training and development programs
* Complete regular safety reporting and lead Safety Committee meetings
* Drive safety culture across the business
Skills & Experience
* Formal qualification in Occupational Health & Safety
* Comprehensive knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act, Regulations, and Code of Practice
* Experience in a similar OH&S management role, ideally within heavy industry
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with a demonstrated ability to influence positive change
* Certificate IV in Training and Assessment will be well regarded, however is not essential
* Current drivers license
