We’re looking for a proactive and organised Facility Services Coordinator to support the smooth operation of our laboratories and collection centres across Bowen Hills and the greater Brisbane region.
In this hands-on role, you’ll coordinate maintenance, manage contractors, and ensure our facilities are secure, compliant and well maintained, supporting the vital work of our pathology teams every day.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate facilities maintenance across laboratories and collection centres within the Brisbane region.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with internal staff, managers, contractors and suppliers.
- Ensure competitive pricing and timely response from contractors, considering the 24/7 nature of some operations.
- Oversee and coordinate repairs and installations including:
- Plumbing, electrical (including tagging), air-conditioning, gas, fire systems, building and property maintenance, and waste management systems.
- Action and follow up on all maintenance requests promptly, keeping relevant parties updated.
- Maintain accurate records in departmental databases and ensure service contact details and procedures are current.
- Contribute to process improvements and the development of efficient maintenance systems.
- Comply with workplace health and safety requirements and model SNP Core Values
What we are looking for

- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Awareness of safety requirements and procedures.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, databases).
- Experience, or willingness to learn, scheduling and coordination of facilities maintenance and contractors.
- Ability to adapt to change, manage competing priorities, and remain calm under pressure.
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:
You’ll bring a proactive, solution-focused approach to maintaining safe and functional facilities. Your ability to balance hands-on problem solving with clear communication and organisation will be key.
- Certificate or trade qualification in building, maintenance, or facilities management (or equivalent experience).
- Sound understanding of building systems and services (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire, etc.).
- Knowledge of contractor management, safety systems, and compliance requirements.
- Current driver’s licence and ability to travel between Brisbane sites as required.
- Experience in a healthcare, laboratory, or similar operational environment (advantageous but not essential).
