The Greenbushes Lithium Operation is located in a unique residential setting, near the town of Greenbushes atop the picturesque Darling Scarp. About the Role:

Reporting into the General Manager - Operations, the Training Manager is accountable for Talison Lithium's training and development strategy, and management of company-wide training and workforce development activities. You will be tasked with ensuring that key learning projects achieve strategic and operational objectives.

Qualifications

The following qualification/s are considered desirable for this position:

* tertiary Qualification in Education, Human Resources or Business Administration (or a related field); and
* advanced Diploma in Training and Assessment.
* cert IV in Training and Assessment (TAE 40122)

Skills

The incumbent should have the following skills and/or experience:

* extensive experience in a Senior Management position within a fast paced, multi-disciplined, operational environment (experience with or within the mining industry, desirable);
* high level of skill in strategic leadership, thinking and management skills to deliver workforce competency and development outcomes within an industrially complex operational environment;
* high level of skill in identifying and implementing initiatives and strategies to improve operational performance, safety and productivity;
* knowledge and understanding of the application of the Work Health and Safety Act and Work Health and Safety Regulations (2022);
* proven experience in the development and ongoing management of integrated Learning Management Systems (experience with SAP, desirable);
* extensive knowledge of workforce development and related policies, procedures, systems and associated legislative and regulatory requirements applicable to a heavily regulated operational environment;
* high level of conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills to respond to changing business needs;
* ability to take prompt action to accomplish business objectives including action beyond what is required;
* demonstrated experience in managing, forecasting and monitoring training budgets;
* excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, project management and change leadership skills; and
* a collaborative leadership style with a focus on team development and performance, and ability to lead in a fast paced, evolving environment;

Specific Duties include:

* lead a team of training and development professionals that are safety-focused and high-performing; and foster a culture that reflects a high level of customer service, teamwork and collaboration that builds awareness and capability of safety and workforce development across the organisation;
* develop a training and development approach that strongly positions Talison with compliance to legislative and organisational obligations and objectives;
* participate as an active member of the Senior Management Team, to provide company-wide (as well as and localised) advice on workforce competency and capability development, technical, operational, leadership and safety training and development, early careers development as well as training systems;
* lead the development of Talison's company-wide approach to workforce competency and capability development, in line with regulatory requirements and best practice;
* manage the establishment and implementation of workforce competency and development governance and assurance frameworks and policies through a risk based and innovative approach, that drives the overall training and development strategy and one that is reflective of industry best practice and organisational needs;
* manage the development and implementation of relevant training and development documents to ensure they are legislatively compliant, risk managed and consider business operations;
* provide capability, development and training technical direction and advice to relevant internal and external stakeholders as required; and
* build and maintain collaborative relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to facilitate a positive end-to-end customer experience and ensure that training and development activities reflect the wider strategic outcomes of Talison.
