Senior Project Officer Opportunity (6-Month Contract)

Located in Stirling, you'll be joining a forward‑thinking government department committed to delivering high‑quality services and continuous improvement across its project portfolio.

Your new role

As the Senior Project Officer, you will contribute to the development and improvement of project management frameworks, tools and processes, ensuring consistency and compliance across all project activities. You will also play a key role in building and maintaining digital systems, data structures and reporting tools that support effective project delivery across the department.

Your responsibilities will include:

* Supporting the development, implementation and enhancement of project management policies, templates and governance frameworks.
* Monitoring project risks, benefits and outcomes, and preparing high‑quality reporting for stakeholders and senior management.
* Managing project documentation, version control, schedules, registers, change requests and financial tracking.
* Applying project methodologies to ensure delivery within agreed scope, cost and time parameters.
* Engaging and negotiating with stakeholders to ensure project requirements are understood and met.
* Representing the department in meetings, working groups and forums.
* Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies and standards while demonstrating initiative and professional integrity.
* Compiling, analysing and presenting data through Power BI reports to support evidence‑based decision‑making.
* Extracting and transforming data from departmental systems to maintain accurate project information.
* Designing, data coding and maintaining digital tools, frameworks and registers that support project managers across the department.
* Developing SharePoint registers and repositories to streamline project governance and documentation management.
* Building and maintaining behind‑the‑scenes systems, data structures and coded solutions that enhance project visibility, reporting and workflow efficiency.

What you'll need to succeed

You will demonstrate:

* Proven experience contributing to the development and improvement of project administration or project management processes.
* Strong conceptual, analytical, research and problem‑solving skills.
* Demonstrated ability to deliver project tasks or small projects within agreed timeframes.
* Well‑developed communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to build productive working relationships.
* Eligibility to pass a satisfactory Criminal Record Check.
* Experience with SQL, Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, or Excel Power Query is highly desirable.
* Experience working with data systems, data coding, digital registers or reporting tools such as Power BI or SharePoint is highly desirable.
