Logistics & procurement coordinator

Offer description

Keep Operations Moving in a Fast-Paced Industrial Environment

At ABBA Engineering, we support major maintenance, shutdown and project delivery across Western Australia.

As demand grows, so does the need for reliable, hands‐on coordination behind the scenes to keep materials, equipment and logistics flowing without delay.

We're looking for a Logistics & Procurement Coordinator who takes ownership, thrives in a practical operational environment, and is comfortable shifting between purchasing, stores, warehouse and delivery coordination.

This is a stand‐alone, hands‐on role where you are trusted to make things happen. It is not purely desk‐based, and it is not purely warehouse‐based — it is a working role across both, where priorities can change and action is required.

If you enjoy variety, responsibility, and being the person who keeps operations running, this role will suit you well.

About the Role

Reporting to the Goldfields Area Manager, you will be the central coordination point between workshop operations, suppliers, freight providers and site teams.

You will take ownership of the flow of materials and equipment that supports maintenance, shutdown and project delivery across the region.

You will manage competing priorities, respond to urgent operational needs, and ensure materials are where they need to be — when they need to be there.

This is a role where practical decision‐making and follow‐through matter more than process for process' sake.

What Your Day May Include

* Sourcing and chasing urgent materials for workshop or shutdown work
* Receiving deliveries and processing stock into Simpro
* Issuing parts, consumables and tools to workshop teams
* Coordinating freight to site when schedules change
* Following up suppliers to resolve delays or shortages
* Updating inventory records and resolving discrepancies
* Keeping warehouse and stock areas organised and functional

What You'll Be Responsible For

Procurement & Purchasing

* Raise and manage purchase orders in Simpro
* Source materials, consumables, tools and equipment as required
* Follow up suppliers to ensure timely delivery
* Manage pricing, availability and order communication
* Maintain accurate supplier records and relationships

Stores, Warehouse & Inventory

* Receive, inspect and process incoming goods
* Issue stock to workshop and site teams
* Maintain accurate inventory records in Simpro
* Conduct stocktakes and cycle counts
* Maintain minimum stock levels for critical items
* Keep warehouse and yard areas organised and operational

Logistics & Deliveries

* Coordinate incoming and outgoing freight and transport
* Arrange urgent deliveries to workshop and site locations
* Track shipments and resolve delivery issues
* Support mobilisation of materials for shutdowns and projects
* Prioritise urgent operational requirements when needed

Operational Support

* Support workshop and operations teams with day‐to‐day requirements
* Assist with purchasing, stock and logistics administration
* Maintain accurate records across procurement and inventory functions
* Ensure operations are not impacted by material shortages

What Success Looks Like

* Materials are available when operations need them
* Urgent requests are handled quickly and effectively
* Inventory records are accurate and trusted by the workshop
* Suppliers deliver reliably and issues are resolved promptly
* Warehouse and logistics activity remains organised, even when priorities shift

About You

You are practical, reliable, and comfortable working in an environment where priorities can change quickly.

You will bring

* Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement, logistics, stores or inventory coordination
* Background in mining, maintenance, construction, manufacturing or workshop environments
* Current MR driver's licence and forklift ticket
* Experience with ERP or inventory systems (Simpro highly regarded)
* Ability to manage competing priorities under time pressure
* A hands‐on, solutions‐focused approach
* Strong communication skills with suppliers and operational teams
* High attention to detail and accountability

This role suits someone who prefers variety, responsibility and practical work over routine desk‐based roles.

Why Join ABBA Engineering?

* Full ownership of procurement and logistics function
* Varied work across office, warehouse and operational coordination
* Stable full‐time position on a 5:2 roster
* Supportive, practical working environment with approachable leadership
* Competitive salary package based on experience
* Opportunity to grow with a rapidly expanding WA business
* ABBA benefits, such as a residential allowance and relocation assistance
