We provide culturally safe Court support and connect individuals with appropriate community services to ensure better outcomes and stronger futures.
The OpportunityWe’re currently seeking two committed and community-minded Court Support Officers to join our team—one in a full-time position (38 hrs/week), and the other in a part-time position (29 hrs/week).In this role, you will provide direct support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples involved in the Criminal and Domestic & Family Violence court systems, whether as victims or defendants. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in people’s lives by ensuring their voices are heard, understood, and respected throughout the court process.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Providing culturally sensitive court support to victims and/or perpetrators
- Attending court and assisting clients with understanding legal processes and orders
- Building strong referral networks with Government and Community organisations
- Supporting clients with information, advocacy, and emotional reassurance
- Maintaining accurate records and preparing brief reports
- Using basic office systems including Outlook, Word, and Excel, and our in-house purpose built CRM
What You’ll Need✅ Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander (This is an identified position)
✅ Strong communication and interpersonal skills
✅ Ability to work collaboratively and independently
✅ Understanding (or willingness to learn) of the court system, especially Domestic & Family Violence matters
✅ Basic admin and computer skills
Mandatory Requirements (or willingness to obtain)
- Current QLD Driver’s Licence
- Blue Card (Working with Children)
- Yellow Card (NDIS Worker Screening)
- First Aid Certificate
