Founded in 2015, S&R Engineering and Construction is a medium civil engineering construction business delivering civil and water infrastructure projects across Victoria and Southern NSW, including Pipelines, Earthworks, Concrete Works, Sewer, Water & Irrigation Works.
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Yard Person to join our team in a busy civil construction business. This is a great opportunity for someone who takes pride in maintaining a clean, organised work environment and has a keen interest in mobile plant and equipment.
You will play a crucial role in supporting the efficient operations of our plant department. This hands-on position involves a variety of tasks to maintain our equipment and yard, safety standards, conducting machinery pre checks, completing documentation, and assisting with general labouring and plant operation in the yard.
Key Responsibilities:
* Cleaning and basic maintenance of mobile plant and machinery
* Coordinating incoming and outgoing deliveries
* Loading and unloading trucks safely and efficiently
* Performing basic repairs on small motors and equipment
* Maintaining general yard housekeeping, organisation, and cleanliness
* Ability to work autonomously and be self-motivated
What We're Looking For:
* Previous experience in a similar yard or labouring role (civil construction industry preferred)
* Ability to operate mobile plant and telehandlers (tickets highly regarded)
* Mechanical aptitude and basic knowledge of small motor repairs
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
* Commitment to safe work practices
* A proactive and positive attitude
Qualifications and Requirements:
* Current driver's licence (HR licence highly regarded)
* Forklift licence (or willingness to obtain)
* White Card (Construction Induction)
