Senior finance leader - agricultural industry

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned finance professional to take on a leadership role in a rapidly growing organization. As the Chief Financial Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial management of the company, ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and the effective management of financial risks.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, accounting, and business administration, with a proven track record of managing large-scale operations and driving business growth. They will possess excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions.

Key responsibilities of the role include reviewing and enhancing financial policies, overseeing the preparation and presentation of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements, managing cash flow, investments, and financial planning, and providing financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making.

As a key member of the Lead Team, you will work closely with the Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer to position the business for continued growth and success. You will also be responsible for general commercial support, providing sound and trusted advice on all business matters, and fostering a culture of collaboration, trust, delivery, and continuous improvement.

In addition, you will assist the Risk & Sustainability Manager in establishing and maintaining a robust risk management framework to protect reputation, ability to supply, and assets of the organization, and drive the organization's sustainability agenda, ensuring that environmental, social, and governance principles are integrated into the business strategy.

Other responsibilities include supporting the Property investment businesses with financial advice and needs, ensuring appropriateness and currency of lease agreements, and working alongside the Chief Operating Officer to understand and reconcile seed business needs with those of the property businesses.

With a strong focus on compliance, you will negotiate and manage (or assist fellow staff) legal commercial agreements with suppliers, customers, and partners, ensure compliance with contractual obligations, and mitigate legal risks. The ideal candidate will also possess ERP system experience, preferably with Microsoft D365, and be able to travel extensively across Australia and New Zealand, and potentially further afield.
