About the role
You will join one of the world's leading and connected rural health services as the Health and Security Assistant where we are driven by a single goal; healthier rural people- thriving communities.
Supporting the care delivery team is at the heart of the Health and Security Assistant role. You will provide support to the nursing team in the delivery of patient care, under the guidance of nursing staff. You will provide general assistance in wards, have cleaning duties and provide portering for patient transfers around the facility, and you will undertake security related duties as required and or directed.
The role involves cleaning near the ED and inpatient units and performing security checks, while working closely with the cleaning and nursing teams. The position is part of a 45-staff Patient Support Services team at Lachlan Health Service (Forbes & Parkes Hospitals), operating 7 days a week. Support and training will be provided through a buddy system and ongoing team assistance. Physical fitness and the ability to perform cleaning and security tasks throughout the shift are required.
These shifts commence at either 19:30 and ends at 06:00, it is a 10 hour shift with a 20 minute paid break and also a 30 minute non paid break or Day shift which commences at 06:00 and ends at 14:30. Weekdays and Weekends
