The Principal Psychologist is a full-time, ongoing leadership role based in Parkville & Moonee Ponds (part-time applications will be considered). 
The Royal Melbourne Hospital Mental Health Services 
- Provides professional leadership to the psychology workforce at RMH - Mental Health Services in collaboration with the Director of Psychology 
- Oversees the clinical practice of psychologists and supports mental health reform across RMH-MHS

About The Royal Melbourne Hospital Mental Health Services (RMH MHS) 
At the Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) Mental Health Services (MHS), we provide person-centred, recovery-oriented care for adults and older adults living with, or at risk of developing, serious mental illness. Our multi-disciplinary workforce includes clinicians and Lived and Living Experience (LLE) experts, who together deliver trauma-informed, holistic and evidence-based care that includes families, carers and kin. 
The Principal Psychologist provides professional leadership across RMH Mental Health Services. You will coordinate and promote evidence-based psychological practice, contribute to clinical services and education, and support the development and wellbeing of the psychology workforce. This role reports professionally to the Director of Psychology and operationally to the Director of Allied Health & Development and Learning. 
In This Role You Will 
- Lead and promote best-practice, evidence-based psychological care across all RMH-MHS programs 
- Provide and/or facilitate expert consultation, supervision and professional governance for psychologists and students 
- Alongside the Director of Psychology and Principal Psychologist Clinical Educator, foster partnership with tertiary institutions and other stakeholders to strengthen training pathways including student placements and registrar positions 
- Lead workforce planning, recruitment and retention strategies in collaboration with the Director of Psychology and Allied Health Director 
- Support and promote research, evaluation and innovation in psychological programs and interventions 
- Work closely with the Psychology Leadership Team, Program Managers, Consumer and Carer Workforce, Allied Health and Discipline Leads to ensure excellence in service delivery 
About You 
- You are an experienced and cooperative leader who is passionate about providing person-centred psychological interventions to consumers within public mental health. 
- You have significant experience as a senior neuro or clinical psychologist in mental health settings 
- A track record of providing leadership, supervision and workforce development 
- Strong consultation skills and the ability to make strategic decisions to support the workforce and influence practice across disciplines 
- Commitment to person-centred, trauma-informed and recovery-oriented care for consumers and their families / carers 
- An interest in contributing to education, research and service innovation
