Team Leader Strategic Transport Projects

* Salary range of between $108,020.23 and $120,635.14 per annum plus 12% super and annual leave loading
* Permanent full time position
* Located at 32 Civic Dr, Greensborough, VIC 3088
* Access to monthly RDOs
* Flexible working arrangements available - balance life and work
* 16 weeks (pro rata) parental leave and generous personal and carers leave entitlements.
We are recruiting for an exciting new Team Leader Strategic Transport Projects role, requiring a strong blend of technical expertise, effective leadership and strategic thinking. In this role, you will lead the development and delivery of key transport strategies, projects and policies that support safe, efficient and sustainable movement across Nillumbik. Leading a skilled and collaborative team, you will drive innovative, evidence-based transport planning outcomes that respond to community needs and support Council's strategic priorities.
A typical day might include:
* Lead and mentor a team delivering specialist transport planning advice, projects and strategic outcomes
* Oversee the development of transport strategies, research, policy and planning initiatives aligned with Council priorities
* Coordinate workload planning and apply cross-Council collaboration to support the delivery of the Integrated Transport Strategy 2024
* Lead and guide community and stakeholder engagement to deliver meaningful transport and traffic outcomes
* Advocate for local transport improvements and lead State Government engagement regarding arterial road networks
* Provide high levels of service to internal and external customers, and ensure the teams meets all quality and customer service standards.
What you will bring to the role:
* High-level analytical capability, policy development experience, and strategic transport planning skills
* Advanced communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly
* Proven leadership skills, including mentoring staff, setting priorities and managing performance
* Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including collaboration with other government agencies, community and internal teams
* A current Victorian Driver Licence
* Where applicable, the position may require registration or eligibility for registration under the Professional Engineers Registration Act, ensuring professional engineering work is delivered to statutory and industry standards.
