Overview
As a Correctional Case Officer, you'll supervise, manage, and support inmates while ensuring safety, security, and rehabilitation within a respectful, structured environment at Clarence Correctional Centre, Australia's largest correctional facility.
Responsibilities
Supervise and manage inmates while promoting rehabilitation and reintegration
Conduct searches, monitor inmate activities, and maintain a structured, secure environment
Use communication and problem-solving skills to defuse tense situations and maintain order
Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure inmate welfare
What You'll Need
Willingness to complete Certificate III in Correctional Practice (fully funded)
Strong communication, empathy, and resilience
Ability to stay calm under pressure and solve problems with sound judgment
Physical fitness to meet role demands
A valid Driver's Licence
As this is a position of trust, shortlisted candidates will undergo a Police Check and full probity assessment.
Benefits
Typical earnings start at $70,827 p.a. + super (including penalty rates), with opportunities to earn above $90K p.a. + super
From March **** (pending Fair Work Commission approval), typical earnings increase to $75,077 p.a. + super, with opportunities to earn above $95K p.a. + super
Hourly rates increase as you achieve Correctional Officer Level 2 and Level 3
5 weeks annual leave
Every second weekend off – a 7-day fortnight roster
