We’re looking for an Accountant to take ownership of our core finance functions and partner with the Financial Controller to strengthen the financial backbone of the business. This is a hands-on role with genuine influence, where you’ll lead key accounting processes, oversee payroll, and provide insights that shape strategic decisions.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Process month-end process, journals, accruals, reconciliations, and reporting
* Prepare balance sheet reconciliations
* Oversee end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring compliance with legislation and awards
* Maintain payroll records, employee entitlements, superannuation and PAYG reporting
* Assist with the preparation of year-end financial statements, statutory reporting, and external audits
* Ensure accuracy and compliance in AP/AR,supplier payments, and debtor management
* Maintain fixed asset registers and lease schedules
* Support the continuous improvement across the finance function
* Partner with department heads to deliver budgets, forecasts and financial insights
* Contribute to systems enhancements, ERP optimisation (NetSuite highly regarded) and automation projects
What You’ll Bring
Essential:
* Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
* CA/CPA qualified (or equivalent) or working towards
* 3+ years’ accounting experience (public practice accounting experience also desirable)
* Strong technical accounting knowledge and financial reporting experience
* Proven track record with payroll processing, compliance, and reporting
* Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills with ability to analyse and interpret data
* Strong stakeholder engagement skills – able to communicate financials clearly to non-finance teams
* High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail
Nice to Have:
* Experience in retail, FMCG or eCommerce environments Experience with Employment Hero
