We are seeking an experienced engagement practitioner and/or social planner to be based in our Armidale, Newcastle, or Brisbane office.

Key accountabilities of the role are:

* prepare social impact assessments, social needs assessments, industry and Aboriginal participation plans, community benefit sharing plans, workforce development plans, social impact management plans, and engagement plans
* design and deliver community and stakeholder engagement to support a diverse range of projects
* analyse social data and community feedback to assess social risks and identify and advise on mitigation strategies, plans and programs to address social impacts of a development project
* ensure that projects and programs comply with engagement and social impact assessment guidelines and frameworks and provide guidance on engagement, social licence and social planning
* engage with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies to understand project requirements and address social and community concerns and provide professional and expert advice to clients on engagement, social impact planning, impact assessment, and benefit sharing
* work collaboratively with teams across the business and client representatives to achieve project objectives, contribute to project meetings and update Project Managers on project status and risks
* ensure that all deliverables, including plans, reports, assessments, meet high-quality standards
* complete tasks in accordance with agreed timeframes, budgets, scope of work and outcomes
* contribute to the preparation of fee proposals and tender submissions
* foster effective communication and teamwork across the business
* adopt a customer-centric partnership approach, ensuring services meet or exceed client expectations
* stay up to date with emerging trends, regulations, and best practices
* build and maintain strong client relationships

About you - skills and experience

You will:

* hold a bachelor’s degree in social science, communication, anthropology, geography, environment, sociology, planning, arts, or other relevant discipline
* have 3-4 years’ experience in stakeholder and community engagement and/or social planning
* have strong people skills and a proven collaborative working style
* strong written and verbal communication abilities, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to diverse stakeholders
* effective stakeholder engagement skills with a demonstrated capability for engagement design
* sound analytical and planning skills
