Key job responsibilities
* Inspire a team at one of our Fulfillment Centres/Delivery Stations, continuously improving the efficiency of delivery processes, ensuring customer orders are delivered quickly, accurately, and cost-effectively.
* Lead a team or a process from day one.
* Assume training and integration responsibilities for your team, while driving progress and striving for excellence.
* Exercise sound judgement, ensuring progress and targets are realistic and achievable.
* Participate in creating the future of operations and logistics.
This role is based on night shift, with shift hours approximately from 6:30pm - 4:30am. You will be working shifts from Sunday to Wednesday, or Wednesday to Saturday. Candidates will be eligible for a night shift allowance, in addition to their total compensation.
As a Graduate Area Manager
* Leading and developing a team of Amazon associates.
* Maintaining Health and Safety standards within your remit area, while promoting an inspiring Health and Safety culture on-site.
* Developing performance goals and objectives to achieve customer promise expectations and ensure accuracy and quality.
* Collaborating with all support teams including Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, Quality Assurance, Human Resources to develop plans to meet business objectives.
* Partnering with the management team to establish and maintain quality control standards.
* Reviewing the work forecasts and determining day‐to‐day requirements to meet overall building objectives.
* Demonstrating problem‐solving and analytical capabilities.
A day in the life
You'll work shifts and be based at one of our operational sites. Your main focus will be to maintain safety standards within your team and across your site. You'll also monitor and maintain process efficiency, prioritising routine team management and daily operational tasks. Additionally, you will handle individual escalations, process improvement work and wide‐scale operational contingency planning. You will partner with colleagues in other teams and external partners to ensure we meet customer demands and targets. This will involve analysing data and performance metrics with leaders and discussing the operational pros and cons of technical improvements with engineers.
The Graduate Program
The program is designed to make you feel valued, included and enabled right from the start through building long lasting connections with other Graduate Area Managers and your peers. It includes an 11‐week onboarding/training to develop you into a competent leader in both soft‐skill interactions and technical scenarios through virtual and practical learning. Post‐onboarding the program focuses on building proficiency within your role and broadening your lens to understand the wider operation within Amazon Australia and how the business operates away from your direct work.
About the team
As a Graduate Area Manager, you will be part of a larger operation in the heart of a Fulfillment Centre, working with other Area Managers, support staff and learning everything you need to know about how Amazon Operations works. You will receive mentorship and support to guide your work.
Basic Qualifications
* Completed a tertiary qualification (undergraduate or post‐graduate) in the last 24 months in engineering (non‐software) or science (logistics, supply chain management).
* People focused.

Preferred Qualifications
* Some work experience - placement years, internships or university.
* Prior experience in a leadership role or operational role (advantageous).
