Tree Management Officer (Proactive Inspections)
Position Overview
As a Tree Management Officer specialising in Proactive Inspections, you will be at the forefront of urban forestry management. This role involves conducting thorough inspections and assessments of tree assets to ensure they are safe and flourishing, aligned with arboriculture best practises and the Council's strategic frameworks. You will help manage risks associated with urban trees while maximising their environmental, social, and economic contributions, in collaboration with the tree canopy management team.
Responsibilities
1. Conduct proactive tree inspections to assess health, risk, and safety of tree assets.
2. Develop inspection schedules and produce technical reports and recommendations.
3. Collaborate with the tree canopy management team to support the Council's Delivery Program and Operational Plans.
4. Contribute to sustainable urban forestry initiatives and community wellbeing through responsible management practices.
5. Promote continuous improvement and innovation in processes and practices.
Qualifications
6. Diploma in Arboriculture (AQF Level 5) and a Class C Driver's Licence.
7. A proven track record in tree assessments and risk management.
8. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to foster collaborative relationships.
9. Experience in developing proactive inspection schedules and technical reports.
Benefits
10. Hours: Permanent full time 38 hours per week with a 9 day fortnight.
11. Package: From $96,671 gross p.a. plus 12% superannuation.
