Job Description
We are seeking trade-qualified Diesel Fitters to join our new Liberty Street branch in Cairns, the largest CRG centre in Far North Queensland.
Become a vital part of Hastings Deering's next chapter and join our team today. There are multiple Permanent Monday to Thursday positions available. These roles work over a compressed work week - hence you will have every Friday off.
As a Diesel Fitter in our new branch, you will:
* Work with new state-of-the-art machinery and learn from skilled technicians.
* Repair, maintain and service key CAT machinery and components.
* Equipment Assembly of Caterpillar equipment.
* Use Caterpillar Diagnostic Systems (ET Vims, SIMSi and SIS).
* Perform diagnostic assessments on mining, general construction, and power generation equipment.
* Work as part of a skilled and driven team.
* Work in a fast-paced environment to achieve target times for repairs.

About You
A successful teammate will have:
* Certificate III in Engineering and Mechanical or similar qualifications.
* Knowledge of engine reconditioning and rebuilds.
* Demonstrated service and repair experience on heavy machinery.
* Experience on Caterpillar Diagnostic Systems or similar experience in motor mechanics and agriculture/sugar farming.
* Proven ability to maintain a high level of workplace health and safety.
* A customer driven focus and commitment to continuous improvement.
* Excellent time management skills and a strong commitment to quality control.
