We are seeking a skilled Nursing Specialist to join our Radiation Oncology Centre in the Noosa region and Buderim clinic. This casual position offers flexibility for nurses to work around their schedule.
About the Role
You will be part of a small team delivering best practice Radiation Oncology nursing services, working alongside a multidisciplinary team to provide exceptional patient care.
Your Responsibilities
* Provide high-quality patient care, ensuring patients' physical and psychological needs are met.
* Undertake direct patient care including education, wound management, and medication administration as per established protocols.
* Effectively manage daily patient interactions.
* Foster effective communication with doctors, patient services, physicists, and radiation therapists, providing timely feedback and updates on patient information.
* Ensure all patient interactions are documented, communicated, and actioned.
* Maintain adherence to procedures, protocols, practices, and clinical guidelines aligned with best practice radiation oncology nursing standards.
* Verify compliance with medication management protocols.
* Utilize ISBAR communication tool for patient handovers and allied health service communication, along with documentation.
* Demonstrate reliability, motivation, and adaptability.
Requirements
* Possess current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
* Hold minimum 2 years post-graduate experience (preferred).
* Have a background in oncology nursing or equivalent; training in radiation oncology nursing will be provided.
* Exhibit exemplary interpersonal communication skills with the ability to demonstrate empathy towards patients and their carers.
* Display well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Show commitment to applying best practice principles and quality improvement, adhering to NSQHS standards.
* Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development.
* Be experienced in wound care management.
