The Family Violence Outreach Worker provides support and case management to women (with or without children) escaping domestic violence. This role involves comprehensive needs assessment, delivering direct services, and helping clients achieve safety and independence. Position Purpose
The Family Violence Outreach Worker will provide initial support and case manage clients to achieve personal independence, provide direct service delivery and ensure quality outcomes to women with or without children, who are escaping domestic violence. This includes assessment and comprehensive case management to address key areas of the client's needs. The position will assist clients to ultimately achieve change and deliver support services to people who have experienced domestic or family violence. The Family Violence Outreach Worker will follow all regulations required pertaining to the MARAM framework.
Key Selection Criteria
•Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Aboriginal culture with the ability to liaise with and support the local community.
•Experience in Microsoft Office computer packages.
•Ability to assess and provide case management to address key areas of the client's needs.
•Deliver support services to people who have experienced domestic or family violence.
•Experience in casework with women and children from diverse backgrounds who have experienced family violence.
•Demonstrated commitment to working collaboratively with the capacity to negotiate and liaise with other agencies and the community.
•Ability to communicate information in a clear, concise, respectful and culturally appropriate manner.
•Demonstrated experience engaging and working with families that have child protection involvement.
•Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise and manage competing demands.
Qualifications and Registrations Requirement (Essential or Desirable).
•Valid Driver licence ESSENTIAL
•Meets the mandatory minimum qualifications of a Family Violence practitioner; OR willingness to undertake further studies to meet these requirements ESSENTIAL
•A satisfactory Working with Children Check and Fit2Work Police Check ESSENTIAL
•A person of Aboriginal and or Torres Strait Islander background DESIRABLE
•Proof of COVID-19 vaccinated to align with GEGAC requirements ESSENTIAL
