About Orontide Orontide is a Veolia company located in Western Australia providing Hydrocarbon solutions, specialist engineering, fabrication, preservation, and integrity maintenance services to the Oil & Gas, Mining, Naval Defence, Marine and Commercial Industries. As a result of the company's continued growth, an excellent opportunity has become available for suitably qualified and experienced Workshop Machinist to join our Port Hedland based team.
Role
Position: Workshop Machinist
Location: Port Hedland, Western Australia
Remuneration: Rate $50.00– $65.00 per hour
Employment type: Permanent, full-time
Responsibilities
* Operate manual lathes and milling machines
* Conduct machining tasks on horizontal borers and heavy-duty lathes (advantage but not compulsory)
* Check metal parts for accuracy, clearance and fit
* Set guides, stops and other controls on machining tools
* Set up prescribed cutting and shaping tools and dies in machines and presses
* Set controls for textile machines used to spin, weave, knit, sew and tuft fabric (where required)
* Form metal stock and castings to press, cut, grind, plane, bore and drill metal
* Cut, thread, bend and install hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines
* Prepare mechanisms to control textile machine operation
* Perform maintenance of machines, mechanical parts and fluid power equipment
* May erect machines and equipment
Qualifications & Experience
* Experience on manual lathes and milling machines
* Machinist/Turning experience
* Previous work experience in engineering workshop
* Good understanding of engineering drawings
* Desirable: experience on horizontal borers and heavy-duty lathes
Licenses & Certifications
* Australian Recognised Trade certificate
* Class C drivers' license
* High Risk
* Work License (LF and WP) Desirable
