We are looking for an Afternoon Shift Supervisor to join the team in Cavan.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you'll supervise a team of machine operators and store persons, manage the flow of materials, and ensure production processes meet customer requirements and safety standards.
You'll also play a key role in troubleshooting issues, maintaining efficient operations, and ensuring that all processing is completed on time and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities:
Machine Operations & Supervision: Perform duties within the 'Machine Operator' classification as required.
Oversee and coordinate the activities of machine operators to ensure safe and efficient processing of materials.Team Leadership: Supervise, motivate, and coordinate between Store persons and Machine Operators, ensuring tasks are prioritized and material flow is optimized.Stock & Material Management: Work closely with the Warehouse team and Operations Clerk to ensure timely material dispatch and inventory management.Safety & Compliance: Ensure all team members adhere to safety protocols, WHS regulations, and proper PPE usage at all times.
Maintain high standards of safety and housekeeping in the workplace.Coordination & Communication: Liaise with the Day shift Supervisor, Night shift Leading hand, and Programming teams to prioritize work, manage ongoing projects, and solve issues that may arise during shifts.Problem Resolution: Address operational challenges such as equipment malfunctions, material discrepancies, or programming issues to maintain workflow efficiency.Record Keeping: Ensure that all paperwork is complete and accurate before submission to the office.
Assist with stock takes and process documentation.Customer Issue Resolution: Follow up on customer processing concerns and take corrective actions to resolve any issues.Skills & Experience Required:
Strong knowledge of the steel processing industry.Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.Overhead crane and forklift operating experience and HRW license.Solid understanding of WHS regulations and the ability to enforce safe work practices.Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage a team and solve problems effectively.Heavy vehicle handling skills and experience with warehouse operations, distribution, and logistics.If you are looking for a change and a chance to work in an agile and fun environment, please apply now.
