What is PowerStack?
PowerStack modular solar poles are a sustainable, cost-effective way to power safety, security, and smart technologies for commercial and community projects. The vertically integrated solar poles can be used to power everything from security cameras to street lighting, to IoT sensors and smart city infrastructure.
We work with clients across local and state government, transport, commercial property and industrial manufacturing. In a scale-up phase, we've achieved a lot with a small team and are now looking to expand production capabilities as our pipeline and product range grows.
The Role:
We are looking for a hands-on Manufacturing Operations Manager with relevant Electrical certifications. Our ideal candidate is someone who is comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment, and can take ownership of production and procurement operations, process discipline, quality standards, and team coordination.
This role suits someone who combines strong technical capability with practical operational leadership, and who takes genuine pride in delivering quality outcomes.
Typical Responsibilities Include:
* Managing manufacturing workflows and assembly operations, running the workshop on a day to day basis,
* Supporting the manufacturing team by being hands on with build, assembly and QA, getting involved in all manufacturing activities,
* Driving process improvement and operational efficiency, from component procurement to technical support,
* Supporting logistics, shipping, inventory, and warehouse coordination,
* Working with our channel partners and key stakeholders to bench test device compatibility, helping to diagnose and give technical guidance on maintenance and best-practise operation for installed systems, providing guidance on system design and supporting sales training,
* Developing and maintaining quality assurance and compliance standards across the manufacturing process,
* Assisting with production planning and scaling operations,
* Supporting product development roadmaps through feature testing, collaboration with component suppliers and stakeholder management,
* Supporting a positive and accountable workshop culture.
This is a practical leadership role requiring both technical understanding of electrical systems, and strong organisational capability.
Key Requirements:
* Experience in electrical manufacturing, assembly, or similar operations roles
* A current valid Electrical Trade license
* Understanding of solar/PV systems or renewable energy products
* Ability to operate effectively in dynamic or fast-growth environments
* High attention to detail and strong quality mindset
* Process-driven approach with strong organisational skills
* Good computer literacy across standard business and operational software
* Strong communication and problem-solving skills
* Current, valid relevant licenses including: White Card, Forklift
* Experience managing at least 1 direct report
* Experience with the following is not essential but will be highly regarded: Experience in warehousing, freight coordination, and international shipping, knowledge of the security industry and/or outdoor lighting design, exposure to lean manufacturing or continuous improvement principles
* Ability to travel domestically on occasion, with the potential for some infrequent international travel
