About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Archaeology Professional to join our team. As an archaeologist with Austral, you will have the opportunity to work on diverse Aboriginal and historical heritage projects, advancing your career in a collaborative and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Leading and supporting archaeological surveys, test excavations, and monitoring.
* Assisting with project logistics, planning, and coordination.
* Preparing and reviewing reporting for permits and planning (HAAs, SoHIs, ACHARs).
* Working respectfully with Traditional Owners and stakeholder groups.
* Mentoring graduates and early-career team members.
* Maintaining high standards of field documentation and WHS compliance.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A degree in archaeology, heritage management, or a related field.
* 2–5 years' experience in consulting archaeology or heritage management.
* Strong fieldwork skills in survey, excavation, or monitoring.
* Familiarity with relevant NSW heritage legislation.
* Confident report writer with good GIS and data management skills.
* Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
* Current driver's licence and capacity to travel for fieldwork.
