The Launceston General Hospital is a major referral hospital for Tasmania's North and North-West. It provides emergency and acute care, specialist services, inpatient and ambulatory care to Launceston and surrounding areas.
As Deputy Executive Director Medical Services, you will be responsible for assisting the Executive Director in the coordination, administration, and evaluation of agency-wide aspects of medical services.
You will oversee the recruitment and workforce planning for junior medical staff, selection, and ongoing training requirements.
Key responsibilities include ensuring that the recruitment, appointment, credentialing, and employment of junior medical staff are consistent with legislative and award provisions.
Additionally, you will oversee the strategic development and improved partnership and communications with general practice and the wider community healthcare providers.
This role requires specialist or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia in a relevant specialty.
Applicants must hold or be working towards Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators (RACMA) or Associate Fellowship of RACMA (AFRACMA) or equivalent post-graduate health management qualification(s).
