The role
As the Payroll Compliance Specialist for the Country Road Group, you will lead the Payroll Systems stream to ensure the integrity of the payroll system, ensuring that all data transferred into and out of the payroll system is accurate and timely and is best practice
You will partner with leaders across our business to support the delivery of outstanding experiences to our 7,000 + employees and countless customers alike. In this hands-on role you will lead continuous system improvement processes and deliver compliance processes while delivering solution-orientated outcomes.
Based in Burnley, with a hybrid mix of time in the office and from home, this will suit a Compliance expert who is passionate best practice and delivering quality outcomes
Key responsibilities
- Facilitate operational compliance through adherence to quality, governance and control frameworks
- Manage the Payroll System vendor(s) to ensure timely and accurate system configuration
- Support auditors and ensure delivery of all internal and external audit requirements including processes, data provision and testing requirements as requested
- Work proactively to ensure payroll team adherence to best practice processes and assist in delivery of training tools in conjunction with the payroll leaders to drive compliance in the payroll teams.
- Lead continuous system improvement processes
- Proven experience leading a best-practice payroll function
- Working knowledge of payroll practices and basic accounting principles
- Experience in both a monthly pay and award/enterprise agreement environment
- Experience leading data analysis and system reviews
- Excellent communication skills - written and verbal, with a strong customer focus
- Demonstrate attention to detail
- In depth understanding of Australian and New Zealand payroll legislation including income taxes, payroll tax, workers comp
- Knowledge of payroll tax and ATO/SGC legislation
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Tools, including Excel and analytical tools
- PayGlobal and/or Empower payroll systems highly regarded but not essential
