HR Manager (Full‑Time) | Newcastle or Sydney | $150,000+
Rankin Ellison Lawyers is growing, and we're seeking a full‑time HR Manager to build, shape and lead our HR function. This is a rare opportunity to step into a strategic, hands‑on role where you'll influence the entire employee experience, strengthen organisational capability, and partner directly with firm leadership to drive meaningful cultural change.
Work from either Newcastle or Sydney, with regular travel between both offices.
Your Impact
As our HR Manager, you'll work closely with the Partners and Management Committee to uplift HR strategy, improve people processes, and lead initiatives that strengthen culture across the firm. You'll be the driving force behind building a modern, effective HR function that supports our growth.
What You'll Lead
Strategic HR & Cultural Leadership
• Partner with Partners and the Management Committee to drive cultural change and foster a united, high‑performing workplace
• Provide strategic HR advice and coaching to firm leadership
• Build HR frameworks, governance, and compliance foundations
• Lead performance, development and progression processes
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
• Oversee the end‑to‑end recruitment process across both offices
• Develop talent acquisition strategies and employer brand presence
• Lead workforce planning, team structure projects, and capability development
Employee Lifecycle & Engagement
• Own onboarding, induction, retention and offboarding
• Lead employee relations, conflict resolution and issue management
• Implement initiatives that enhance engagement and strengthen the employee experience
Systems, Process & HR Operations
• Manage and enhance the Employment Hero HRIS
• Identify opportunities for improved people processes and operational efficiency
What You Bring
• Extensive experience (8+ Years) as a Human Resources generalist or HR Manager
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and support organisational change
• Strength in recruitment, employee relations and HR operations
• Experience building or maturing an HR function
• Relevant tertiary qualifications (HR, Organisational Psychology or similar)
• Proactive, structured and able to work autonomously
