About this opportunity

The NACC has an Assistant Director Finance Business Partner position available for immediate filling in either, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, Perth or Sydney. A merit list will be established to fill vacancies arising in the next 18 months.

About the role

The Assistant Director Finance Business Partner is responsible for leading a small team that provides high quality financial support services across the NACC.

We are looking for an outstanding individual to support the NACC in operating to best-practice standards and fully complying with all finance law requirements.

This role will contribute to shaping the financial (including travel) support provided to business areas. The role will be instrumental in improving our financial governance, strengthening our internal controls, and supporting the development of high-quality financial policies and processes.

Key activities

* Management of a small and diverse team to deliver budgets—internal and external—including CBMS adjustments and NACC contributions to Portfolio budget documents
* Management of internal financial reporting, including preparation of monthly reports to the Executive and reporting contributions to the Annual Report
* Management of travel and credit card administration (expense8) and helpdesk
* Oversight of the development, maintenance and communication of financial delegation, policies and business procedures
* Preparation of Senate Estimates briefs and responses to Questions on Notice
* Prepare strategic communication for matters as required to support the CFO and organisational priorities.

Eligibility

Employment with the NACC is subject to the following conditions:

* Citizenship – applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
* Security clearance – this is a Designated Security Assessment Position. The occupant of this position will be required to undergo and maintain a security clearance to Negative Vetting 1.
* Suitability assessment - the NACC must be satisfied that successful applicants are of suitable character. They must undergo a rigorous pre-employment suitability screening process that can be intrusive in nature including (but is not limited to) detailed background, character, employment, police and financial checks.
* Probation - a probation period will apply to a new ongoing engagement in the Australian Public Service.
