JOB DESCRIPTION:
As a skipper with Navigators, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety comfort and satisfaction of our passengers during their scenic journeys. He/she will be highly skilled have some engineering and mechanical know-how and have experience complying with AMSA and other marine legislation. Your responsibilities will include:
KEY RESPONSIBILITES:
-Ensuring the safety and well-being of passengers and crew at all times.
-Conducting pre-departure safety briefings and emergency drills.
-Navigating vessels taking into account weather conditions tides and other factors.
- Maintaining the vessel and equipment in a safe and operational condition.
- Assisting with boarding and disembarking of passengers.
- Complying with all relevant maritime regulations and safety procedures.
REQUIREMEMNTS:
* Master IV Med 2 qualification.
* Proven experience as a skipper or in a similar maritime role.
* Strong communication and customer service skills.
* Willingness to undergo a police check.
* Ability to pass a pre-employment health screening including drug and alcohol
* Be flexible willing to work weekends, public holidays
* Minimum of 1-2 years of skipper or maritime experience required.
* Australian work rights are required for this position.
* Willing to travel between Hobart and Triabunna
* Dual ticketing or engineer experience
* Experience in skippering a Ferry and keeping to a timetable
* Multi hole or twin Catamarans experience.
