Role Description
This is a senior leadership role with accountability across operations and business performance. You will act as the right‐hand person to the Managing Director.
You will support the MD in steering the business toward long‐term success while ensuring high performance, efficiency, safety, and client satisfaction.
Your role is instrumental in driving operational excellence, commercial performance, and strategic growth across the company.
We expect you to act like the business is your own, taking ownership, showing initiative, and pushing projects forward without waiting for direction.
The Business Operations Manager will oversee daily operations to ensure efficiency and effectiveness within the organisation. Responsibilities include optimising business workflows, managing operational projects, analysing key performance metrics, and contributing to strategic planning. Collaboration with various teams and stakeholders is a critical aspect of this position.
Qualifications & Key Attributes
* Established industry relationships within civil, construction or plant hire sectors.
* Demonstrated ability to leverage industry relationships to maintain high fleet utilisation.
* Strong commercial acumen with a focus on revenue growth and margin performance.
* Comfortable developing new business as well as managing operations.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve problems and draw actionable insights from data.
* Proficiency in programme/project management, including planning, executing, and managing cross‐functional projects.
* Driven and proactive: take initiative and push projects forward without waiting for direction.
* Ownership mindset: treat the business as your own, making decisions in the company's best interest.
* Go‐getter approach: actively seek opportunities to improve processes, outcomes, and client satisfaction.
* Capability to lead, motivate, and collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
* Experience in the civil construction or related industries is mandatory.
Salary & Benefits
$130,000 – $150,000 + Super, commensurate with experience, with performance‐based growth. Includes company vehicle, mobile phone, and fuel card.
