Great opportunity to join a growing boutique infrastructure advisory firm working on landmark transport infrastructure projects.
Our client is an established leader in the transport infrastructure consultancy sector who is known for their high-quality practices. They are now seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join their professional team in their Brisbane office.
The Commercial Manager will lead the contract, commercial and cost / risk management through the delivery phase and through this, contribute towards project outcomes being delivered in a safe and integrated way within time, quality, cost and stakeholder expectations.
You will be responsible for leading and managing allocated project resources, including consultants and contractors, across a multi-disciplinary team.
You will be working closely with the Project Director to deliver project outcomes. You will lead all commercial and contract management activities during the project delivery phase. This includes managing budgets, risks, contracts, and stakeholders to ensure the project is delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to required quality standards.
Main Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage a multi-disciplinary team (including consultants and contractors)
* Ensure team resources are effectively utilised
* Manage contracts throughout the delivery phase
* Ensure all parties meet their contractual obligations
* Oversee all commercial aspects including payments, cost audits, and reporting
* Lead budget management and cost control
* Manage project costs, including contracts and contingency
* Monitor financial performance and reporting
* Track project progress and report on risks, issues, and variations
* Develop and implement mitigation strategies
* Address complex commercial, legal, and environmental risks
* Act as a key escalation point for complex issues
* Provide strategic commercial advice to senior leadership
* Prepare and deliver presentations for governance and reporting
* Promote a safe work environment and positive team culture
* Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
* Support collaboration across project teams and interfaces

Qualifications & Skills:
* 10+ years' experience in commercial delivery of rail projects or other transport infrastructure projects
* Strong experience in brownfield environments
* Managing high-value contracts ($200M–$300M+)
* Experience with alliance or collaborative contracting models or Design & Construct Incentivised Target Cost contracting models would be great
* Experience working on projects in Queensland
