Overview

Inner West Council is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our Early Learning team as an Early Learning Assistant Trainee. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about nurturing childrens growth and development in a dynamic, supportive environment.

You will play a vital role in providing quality care and contributing to the smooth operation of our early learning centre while gaining valuable experience in childcare. As part of this 12-month supported program, you will receive continuous assistance and guidance throughout your journey.

Key Responsibilities

Childcare and Support

- Provide quality, nurturing care and support to children.
- Assist the team in creating a vibrant learning environment through educational activities that foster childrens growth and development.
- Contribute to the cleanliness, organisation, and general maintenance of the workplace.
- Ensure equipment and resources are respected, well-maintained, and preserved.

Professional Conduct and Development

- Maintain ethical and professional behaviour at all times.
- Participate in professional development opportunities within Inner West Council and the Early Childhood sector to enhance skills and knowledge.

Administrative Support

- Undertake general administrative tasks and assist the team as required.

Selection Criteria

Education and Training

- Currently studying or willing to study a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education.
- Willingness to obtain a First Aid Certificate, Working with Children Check, and any other centre-specific checks.

Skills and Attributes

- Genuine passion for caring for children and supporting their families.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team, demonstrating organisational skills and reliability.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Commitment to upholding ethical and professional standards.
