Primary objective
Develop and promote new visitor experiences that integrate with local, national and international tourists’ interests while
implementing the sales and promotion of our products, events and venues.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. In collaboration with the leadership team develop and monitor new visitor experiences and events.
2. Coordinate and scope new community engagement activities and function bookings.
3. Develop, implement and monitor a communication plan to maximise reach and grow positive public relations.
4. Manage the Park’s multimedia, including film and image library, web presence and social media.
5. Provide strategic advice to the leadership team on media opportunities and issues.
6. Liaise with clients, businesses, local tourism operators and other strategic partners, organise and conduct
familiarisations and client appointments, ensure client satisfaction while making a positive contribution to revenue.
7. Develop, produce and distribute promotional collateral, and implement all advertising and promotional activities.
8. Collaborate with Friends of the Desert Park in relation to commercial activities and funding submissions.
9. Operate within a strong safety culture and implement defined Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) policies and
procedures while delivering Commission services.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated high-level of initiative, motivation and commitment to achieving commercial objectives.
2. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the proven ability to liaise collaboratively and sensitively.
3. High-level organisational, negotiation skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
4. Knowledge and understanding of a commercial tourism business or conservation facility.
5. Demonstrated ability to build and sustain positive relationships with stakeholders, to respond to changing client needs
and expectations and the capacity for proactive, client focused work.
6. Ability to manage social media or audio-visual content.
Desirable
1. Hold a current Northern Territory Drivers licence.
2. Basic proficiency in graphic design.
