A unique opportunity is available for a highly experienced Registered Nurse with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills to step into a leadership role of an Associate Nurse Unit Manager in a Cardiac Ward, which recently expanded from 17 to 30 beds, at a private hospital in Melbourne. This is a permanent position with both full-time and part-time schedules available. ABOUT THE ROLE As an Associate Nurse Unit Manager, your responsibilities will include: Facilitating a learning culture to ensure continuous improvement; Maintaining professional and constructive working relationships with our VMO partners, using a customer service mindset, to enable high-quality patient outcomes; Providing clinical operational direction for the unit to ensure efficient and effective management by coordinating the delivery of nursing care that is evidence-based; Being accountable and responsible for the effective daily management of human, financial and material resources; Coordinating and driving clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives; Looking after a variety of cardiac patients (heart failure, chest pain, arrhythmias); Looking after patients pre and post cath lab (coronary angiograms, PPM); Preparing patients for CABGs/Valve surgeries. REQUIREMENTS Current registration with AHPRA; Working with Children check; Current or previous ANUM or clinical nurse specialist experience (desirable); Sound clinical knowledge; Sound clinical knowledge with 2 years cardiac experience preferred; Compliance with ACQSHC National standards; Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills; Positive role modelling behaviours; Excellent customer service focus, time management and prioritisation. ABOUT THE FACILITY The hospital, located in Melbourne, is a fully accredited tertiary facility with 334 beds, providing Emergency Services, Extensive Surgical Specialities, a 14-bed ICU, a 17-bed CCU, Medical, and a full range of Cardiac Services including two 24-hour Cardiac Catheter Laboratories and Victoria's only Single-Site Robotic Surgery Program. The hospital has 15 theatres, including a hybrid theatre, diagnostic cardiology, two cardiac cath labs and capabilities for cardiothoracic surgery, orthopaedics, neurosurgery, urology and more.
