**About the role**

Responsible for preparing all event documentation and coordinates with Sales, property departments and customer to ensure consistent, high level service throughout pre-event, event and post-event phases of property events. This position primarily handles events of average complexity. Ensures their property events have a seamless turnover from sales to service back to sales. Recognizes opportunities to maximize revenue opportunities by up-selling and offering enhancements to create outstanding events. Supports and acts on behalf of the Director of Event Management or Director of Event Planning and Operations in his/her absence. Serves as the event planner's primary contact (following turnover) on property and is responsible for his/her experience.

**Critical responsibilities**:
**Executing Event Operations**
- Adheres to all standards, policies, and procedures (PPM, Core Deliverables, SOPs, LSOPs, etc.).
- Celebrates successes and publicly recognizes the contributions of team members.
- Ensures associates understand expectations and parameters.

**Executing the Sales and Marketing Strategy**
- Up-sells products and services throughout the event process.
- Participates in customer site inspections and assists with the sales process when necessary.
- Acts as liaison between field sales person and customer throughout the event process (pre-event, event, post-event).
- Assist the DOSM with all group sales activities including hosting Site Inspections
- Under direction from Senior Sales Managers address client queries/RFP within same day of receipt, ensure full qualification of lead is actioned, followed by immediate quotation. All quotes should be sent same business day if possible.
- Be a champion for MI LEADS administration, by providing effective administrative support to Senior Sales Managers to ensure all periodic targets are met, & to ensure overall annual MI LEADS KPI is achieved. Promote referral business where possible and embrace the culture for MI LEADS.
- Maintain regular contact with the Global Sales Office (GSO) offices where appropriate submit sales leads within the Marriott International network.

**Managing Profitability**
- Forecasts group sleeping rooms and event revenue (catering and audio-visual)

**Providing Exceptional Customer Service**
- Interacts with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels.
- Handles guest problems and complaints.
- Participate actively in the regular communication activities to keep departments informed and to foster excellent two-way communication between Sales & C&E.
- Ensure files, correspondence and other relevant business documentation are maintained and filed accordingly.
- Participate in site inspection program, look for continuous improvement to drive a better conversion of inspections.
- Participate in the Quality Track mystery call program with the objective of exceeding the hotel performance goal
- Update sales presentations for all communication needs
- Record telephone messages and attend to callers where appropriate
- Maintain and update all client information
- Represent the Sales Team on internal committees as requested
- Anticipate guest's needs through observation and offer prompt, efficient service either personally or through effective communication with other associates.
