An exciting opportunity exists for 3 x Tradespersons – Paving and Stone, to join our Infrastructure Delivery Section in the Infrastructure Maintenance - Stoneyard Team. The primary purpose of these positions is to assist with overseeing the quality of delivery of the annual works programs including footpaths, roads, stormwater assets, traffic facilities and structural facilities like bridges and walls.
We are looking for an energetic, customer-focused tradesperson with a good understanding of Paving including Brick, Granite and Concrete Unit Pavers to join our dynamic team. The position involves field work and will include a range of maintenance and plant operating activities related to Footpath, Roadway and Kerb infrastructure.
To be successful in this position, you will:
Hold a Trades certificate in a relevant trade like Bricklaying, Landscaping, Tiling, Stonemasonry etc Hold a current General Construction Induction Card (White Card)Ensure that all works are delivered to City standards and specificationsInteract with the community to deliver high quality customer serviceBe a leader, working beside and guiding other City staff and contractorsRecommend and support Work Health and SafetyDocument and report works delivered each dayCurrent minimum C Class drivers licence with a willingness to upgrade within 6 months of commencementDemonstrated sound knowledge of safe traffic control practices
You must also have proven time management skills, ability to prioritise, deal with conflicting issues and meet deadlines. The ability to deliver high quality customer service and to promote a professional image to customers is essential.
