Schmidt Quarries is a family operated business established in 1974. We deliver quality quarry materials such as road bases, rock, aggregates and sand throughout Southern NSW. Our head office is located in Queanbeyan, NSW with our quarries located throughout the region. Schmidt Quarries operates 6 quarries, and we also have a fleet of 19 truck and dogs.
About the Opportunity
We are looking for a skilled and proactive Maintenance Planner to join our team, based at our Queanbeyan yard with regular travel to our quarries. This is a permanent full-time position and will play a critical role in developing, coordinating and maintaining proactive maintenance schedules, prioritising maintenance tasks based on criticality and impact on production and analysing maintenance data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
Reporting to the Quarry Managers and Transport / Sales Manager, your key responsibilities will be, but not limited to:
* Develop and maintain short- and long-term maintenance plans for mobile, fixed plant and heavy haulage fleet.
* Coordinate with Quarry Manager, Supervisors and trades teams to ensure work orders are prioritised and resourced efficiently.
* Track and update compliance, backlog and outstanding work orders.
* Ensure availability of parts, tools and resources for maintenance whilst maximising cost efficiency and quality.
* Identify opportunities to reduce maintenance costs and optimise resource allocation.
* Maintain accurate asset information and maintenance documentation.
* Maintain accurate records, work reports, and performance data for continuous improvement.
* Uphold safety
* Provide feedback to the Managing Director, Transport Manager and Quarry Manager's regarding effectiveness of maintenance strategies across the quarries and transport departments.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Prepared for regular travel
* Proven experience in fleet management and allocations.
* Strong mechanical knowledge.
* Strong experience in maintenance software
* Demonstrate exceptional planning and organisation skills
* Experience in mobile and fixed plant maintenance planning and scheduling
* Ideally exposure across both heavy haulage and quarrying
* Experience in prioritising multiple tasks and successfully working to tight deadlines across our quarries and transport departments
* Functions effectively as a team player
* Demonstrated leadership experience
* Great communication and people skills, you're not afraid to influence or have a say
* Safety-first mindset
* Sound computer literacy
* Current and valid driver's licence - Essential
